Back on the podium after the summer braek

After a long summer break, our talents of the MotoGP World Championship return to the track for the #CzechGP in Brno.

The weekend has been characterized by tricky weather conditions, with all the practice sessions alternating between rain and sun.

Andrea Dovizioso, after hiding himself during the qualifying practice, stepped onto the podium of the MotoGP race, after a great run in second place.

DesmoDovi, who powered away well at the start from the second row, immediately slotted in behind poleman Marquez, and held on to the same position until the chequered flag.

Another podium, others important points for the World Championship ranking.

A good race also for our young rookie Pecco Bagnaia who, in the first two laps, pushed hard to move into P11. Pecco concluded in 12th place a good race finishing in a positive way a weekend started with some difficulties.

ANDREA DOVIZIOSO
“I’m happy with my second place today and the fact that we were fast all through the weekend, even though unfortunately it wasn’t enough to win the race. I opted for a different rear tyre to Marquez and at the start I pushed hard to stay close to him, but when he began to brake harder, I didn’t have any margin to push harder at the front. Pity, but we weren’t that far away from him, so we have to continue to believe in ourselves: I’m still positive because tomorrow there will be an important test day here at Brno, with a lot of new material to try out”.

FRANCESCO BAGNAIA
“It’s been a very difficult weekend. We didn’t have much time to work because of the rain on Saturday. We found the right direction in wet conditions and we were able to replicate that set up in the dry. From the warm-up the feeling was positive. It was important to finish this race. I can’t wait to be in Austria on a track where the Ducati have always been very fast”.

Exciting race also for Romano Fenati who, since he decided to return to a white graphic on his SR-GP,

seems to have found a magical energy.

In Moto3 FennyFive is able to impose himself for more than half race, setting the pace of the leading group.

A decrease of the tire performance does not allow him to fight for the podium, finishing in eighth place.

ROMANO FENATI

We did a good start of the race, I was feeling good with the bike.

Unfortunately, I suffered the deterioration of the tyre that made me lose positions.

For sure we could get more, due to the good job done in the weekend.

Thanks to my team”.

An undertone Moto2 race for Stefano Manzi who finishes the #CzechGP in 20st position.

STEFANO MANZI
“Today’s race was quite complicated.

The start was not the best and I tried to climb as much as possible with the positions even if it was very difficult because on the track you slipped a lot.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep up with the pace I had in practice. Now we’ll try to work on the data to try to do better in Austria”.

What a Sunday!

#AustrianGP

The races.

Feelings.

Shouts. Of happiness.

Podium.

Champagne.

Smiles.

SR-GP.

The will to win. The desire to succeed.

Hugs.

Strength.

Celebration.

The magic. For a redemption. For somebody who is watching you from a cloud.

Maybe some tears. Tears of satisfaction.

We cannot describe yesterday's magical Sunday. We cannot share the emotions that all the Suomy staff have experienced.

Yesterday has been one of those days when you are rewarded for all the sacrifices, for all the things you fought for, for all the hard  moments.

Yesterday, our amazing talents showed us that we must believe in our potential and fight, up to the last corner.

Dovi and Romano, both on the top of the podium.

Pecco achieved the best result of 2019 season ( up to here, at least).

Stefano continues to grow, finishing just a step away from the top15.

Today we don't want to write too many words.

Watch our talents’ races, if you haven't seen them.

You will understand why we just want to thank all of them.

ANDREA DOVIZIOSO
“Today I’m so happy, because this victory was really important for me. Towards the end of the race I had good right-side grip on the tyre and this allowed me to successfully attempt that incredible overtaking move at the final corner. My strategy for the race was to be aggressive right from the opening lap, but Marquez was more aggressive than me. He immediately tried to impose his rhythm but I was always able to respond and in the final stages I think he had more wear on his tyres than me so I could stay right on his tail until the end, and attempt that crazy passing move on him at the final corner. I want to thank Ducati and my team because today we did everything just perfectly.”

FRANCESCO BAGNAIA

“It’s been a good weekend. In Brno we did a great job and this helped us a lot.
This is a great result, the best of the season. We have reduced the gap from the leaders. The feeling is very positive. We must continue in this direction to be consistent until the end of the season.”

ROMANO FENATI

"I am very happy with the result. In these months I've been thinking about it a lot, I've worked a lot to get there. The victory is an amazing feeling. Today we could not be wrong. We made a great step forward in the championship, I could become an element that can fight with the leading group in the second part of the season."

STEFANO MANZI

“We are improving race by race, but we need to continue to work hard to be able to achieve even more positive results.”
