The first of the two Indonesian stops of the MXGP World Championship scheduled at Pangkal Pinang, is a race that enters right into the Suomy Hall of Successes thanks to Thomas Covington, able to bring on the highest step of the podium Suomy Alpha.

In Race1, a brilliant start allows Covington to create an important gap from the group of riders who follow him and leads him to triumph, passing in first position under the finish line.

In race2 an important fourth position, assures Covington the silver medal in the general classification of the day.

DUTCH GP: THE 100 OVERTAKES RACE

07/01/18

A spectacular race, the MotoGP in Assen. Over a hundred overtakes and six different leaders who led the group of riders who have fought, up to the last corner, for the victory in one of the most beautiful races of all time.

And, Andrea Dovizioso with his SR-GP, was one of the main actors of a race that he called "crazy".

Dovi, starting from the fourth position, even though during the first laps he struggles to find a good rhythm, is able to maintain contact with the leading group and is still there when, a few laps later, the battle broke out. From that moment the classification changes almost at every corner and Dovizioso is among the riders who fight for the highest step of the podium.

Third, first, second and then, again, first. Does not give up, Dovi. But, with two laps to go in one of the many rounds of this epic race, Andrea is able to grit his teeth to stay ahead of Rossi and take back home an important fourth place that allows him to upgrade even the position in the championship where he is now fifth .

A comeback race, the one of Romano Fenati in Moto2. After having been stuck at the start, he pushes to try to recover as many positions as possible. Lap by lap he is closer and closer to the leading group, but a crash forces him to retire.

An undertone race for the other Suomy riders of Moto 2 and Moto 3.

Stefano Manzi, due to a crash, is force to retire.

Outside the points zone on this Dutch weekend, both Federico Fuligni and Livio Loi.

LAST TIME AT SACHSENRING

07/15/18

Sachsenring is a weird track. It is the shortest and slowest circuit in the calendar, with lots of left turns and only few points where you can really speed up. A track that has never really highlighted the characteristics of Andrea Dovizioso.

Dovi works hard for the whole weekend: he is fast, but he doesn’t know if he can be able to be consistent until the finish line.

Sunday, he starts from the fifth box of the grid, a position that Andrea has greatly earned, after facing, on Saturday, both QP1, and official qualification for the pole position.

During the thirty laps of the race, Dovi pushes hard to stay in the fight for the top positions, trying to preserve the tires to the maximum, but when the rear tyre drops off he is no longer able to ride in a smooth way on the German track.

But, in an unfriendly track, Dovi manages to achieve an important seventh place and fundamental additional informations to get a better idea of which direction he has to follow during the second part of the World Championship.

A last time, the one on the German circuit, which, the boys of Moto2, will not put in the drawer of memories. Our Suomy knights end the race out of the points zone, with Romano Fenati one step away from the top fifteen, Federico Fuligni at the twenty-third place and Stefano Manzi at the twenty-fifth.

Livio Loi, Moto3 rider, after the Assen GP, decided, in agreement with his team, to suspend the races until the end of the season.
