The home race always has a special flavour.
You feel it in the air, you see it on the faces of the fans and you can perceive it from the emotions of the riders.
The Italian weekend has been an up and down of emotions, just as the uphills and downhills that make Mugello the most beautiful circuit in the world.
In MotoGP Dovi suffered a bit in qualifying, but he was able to bring again SR-GP back in the podium in front of his fans.
Andrea starts from the third row, but from the first corner he is immediately one of the main actors of the race.
The race cannot be explained in a few words because it has been unbelievaly thrilling. Overtaking, twists, hard brakings and the hearts that beat fast.
And, after a race like this, only applauses for Desmodovi that climbs the third step of the podium and also marks the speed record on the Tuscan circuit, beating the 356.7 km / h wall.
Pecco Bagnaia shows all its value by gaining the best qualifying of the season and fighting for what could also be the best result. Unfortunately, while he was in seventh position close to the leading group, an unexpected crash stopped his race.
"It's been a really exciting race, as it's often the case here at Mugello. Until the very last lap, everything went to plan. I got off to a great start and I put myself in a good position to manage the tyres, staying always within the top three despite the many overtakes in the leading group. My plan was to seize the lead at the beginning of the last lap, but I had to pick up the bike out of turn one to avoid contact and I lost positions and points. I'm a bit disappointed because of that, but also very happy for Danilo, who really deserved this win. It would have been better to score a one-two finish, but Márquez was very competitive also here. As for us, we struggled a bit early on in the weekend but once again we managed to stay in contention until the very end during the race. We want more and we'll keep working to improve."
“It’s a shame we couldn’t finish the race. Our goal was to stay in the Top 10 and the race pace was very good. I am still satisfied because in the last three races we have made great steps forward.
We’ll try again in Barcelona.”.
Stopped prematurely the weekend of the Moto2 and Moto3 riders. Both Stefano Manzi and Romano Fenati, despite they were having a good race, are forced to retire due to a crash.
I am very sorry for the way the day ended. First of all I'd like to apologize to the team because it's a shame to fall like this in our home race. I crashed unexpectedly at the Arrabbiata 1, I was keeping up a good pace but then I crashed. I thank the team, CRC and all the sponsors who have been with us this weekend. See you in Barcelona".
I was recovering positions and I was almost there, fighting for the first positions but, maybe I was over the limit. It's a shame for the crash".
SUOMY & KYT IMPORTANT NOTICE
FIM Homologation update
We are pleasure to confirm that FIM, International Motorcycling Federation, has communicated to us that size “M” of both our Suomy and KYT helmets have received the FIM homologation.
For the size S the tests are not completed yet. We are confident of getting the necessary approval soon.
As for FIM guidelines, the FIM Racing Homologation Programme for Helmets (FRHP) came into force for Grand Prix and Superbike racing as of 3 June 2019. The FRHP was established in order to grant special recognition to products related to the safety of the riders and as a requirement for FIM competitions only.
With this positive result, we are now striving hard to include all necessary FIM label preparation on our riders' helmets for the upcoming races.
This particular approval will be added to the ECE 2205 homologation already granted to our helmets for all the sizes until L.
That means that our new SUOMY SR-GP, as the entire Suomy Collection, is provided with the ECE certification that guarantee to our customers the European standard for the traffic safety.
